Brinjeva Gora is a hill above the town of Zreče, on the southern slopes of Pohorje in northeastern Slovenia, at the edge of the Dravinja valley. The name is generally linked to the Slovene word for juniper, and the hill is a mix of woodland, meadow and farmland, with a pilgrimage church at the top and a network of paths that attract walkers, cyclists and climbers from the town and the nearby spa. It is a modest hill, but it has been a centre of human activity for a very long time, and the combination of natural setting, religious tradition and archaeology gives it a good deal of interest.

The pilgrimage church, dedicated to the Mother of God, is the main landmark. The present building is Baroque, from the eighteenth century, and it is still in use, with a pilgrimage at Pentecost that draws believers from across the region. The church stands on a rise with a view over the Dravinja valley and the hills around Zreče, and the paths up the hill pass through quiet woodland and old orchards. Inside, the Baroque interior and the simple hilltop setting give the building a calm and welcoming character, and visitors are welcome outside services, provided they behave respectfully.

The hill is also important for archaeology. Excavations have found traces of settlement from prehistoric times, including the Copper Age, and later periods, with evidence of Celtic and Roman presence, which show that the hill was an attractive place to live and to defend over thousands of years.
