Vogar viewpoint

Vogar viewpoint is one of Bohinj’s most celebrated spots for panoramic vistas, perched at 1,054 meters above Lake Bohinj in the heart of Triglav National Park. This viewpoint offers sweeping views of the Upper and Lower Bohinj Valley, the shimmering lake below, and the dramatic peaks of the Julian Alps. Reaching Vogar is a rewarding adventure in itself. The most popular route begins in the village of Stara Fužina, with a well-marked trail that climbs nearly 500 meters in elevation over the course of about an hour. The path is steep and can be slippery in places, so sturdy hiking shoes are recommended. Along the way, hikers pass through lush forests and are treated to glimpses of the valley opening up below.

At the top, visitors find Kosijev dom, a welcoming mountain hut where you can rest, enjoy a meal, or simply take in the view. Vogar is also a popular launch site for paragliders, thanks to its favorable thermal conditions.
