The Witch's Hut, in Slovene Čarovniška hiša, is a small family attraction in the hills outside Podčetrtek, close to the Olimje Monastery in the Kozjansko region of eastern Slovenia. It is aimed mainly at children, and its idea is simple: a walk through a patch of woodland where figures from fairy tales and Slovene stories stand among the trees, so that a short stroll turns into a game of spotting characters. It is not an amusement park with rides, but a quiet, handmade place with a strong sense of folk charm, and its low-key character is part of the appeal.

Among the characters visitors meet is Kekec, the cheerful mountain boy who is the best-loved hero of Slovene children's literature. Kekec was created by the writer Josip Vandot, who set his stories in the Alps around Kranjska Gora, and the 1951 film based on them is still a household favourite for generations of Slovene families. Others are better known abroad, such as Snow White, and together the figures give the woods a storybook feeling. A witch's cottage gives the place its name, and the story of the witch and her house is a favourite part of visits by school groups.

A log cabin on the site is a small museum. It shows the way a large rural family lived about a century ago, with simple furniture, kitchen tools, farm and household implements and the objects that people made for themselves. The display illustrates how many tasks in a farm household were done by hand, and how all family members, including children, contributed to the work.
