Pustolovski Park

Pustolovski Park is the adventure park beside Bukovniško jezero, the forest lake in the Dobrovnik area of Prekmurje, in the flat northeastern corner of Slovenia. The name simply means adventure park, and it belongs to the family of treetop courses that have become popular across Europe, where visitors climb among the trees on rope bridges, wooden platforms, nets and zip lines, secured by a harness. Here the trees are those of the lake forest, and the setting gives the park a quiet, green character that suits a family outing.

Courses of this type are usually arranged in levels of increasing difficulty, so that young children and beginners can try a low, simple route while teenagers and adults take on higher or more demanding sections. Participants wear a harness and helmet, are clipped to a safety line and receive a briefing before they start, and trained staff supervise the courses. The physical challenge is moderate, but the real test is often mental, as balancing on a swaying bridge several metres above ground takes confidence. Many families enjoy it because everyone can go at their own pace, and there is usually a short route for the youngest. Minimum age, height and weight limits normally apply, so it is wise to check them in advance.

The park is only one of the attractions around the lake. A path leads from the village of Kobilje through woods of hornbeam, beech, sweet chestnut and pine to the shore, and the lake itself is a calm reservoir created for flood control that is now a habitat for birds and amphibians. The chapel of St. Vid and its spring, an energy park with marked energy points and the so-called dragon lines of radiesthesia, and a stork flight installation add to the list, so a day can mix activity with walking and curiosity.

Prekmurje's flat landscape is unusual for treetop climbing, and the forest around the lake is one of the few areas with tall trees. Because adventure parks operate seasonally, opening times, prices and course layouts vary from year to year, and in poor weather or high winds courses may close. It is wise to book in advance for groups and to check conditions on the day.

The park suits families with children, school groups, friends and anyone who wants an active break in the countryside. Wear closed shoes and comfortable clothes, tie back long hair and leave loose items behind. After the climb, a walk around the lake or a picnic on the shore is a pleasant way to wind down, and Prekmurje's spas and restaurants are within easy reach for the evening.
