Paviljon EXPANO

Paviljon EXPANO, set on the tranquil shores of Soboško jezero in Murska Sobota, offers visitors an engaging introduction to the Pomurje region of Slovenia. Originally constructed as Slovenia’s pavilion for Expo 2015 in Milan, EXPANO now serves as a regional promotion center, blending innovative design with interactive exhibits to showcase the area’s natural beauty, culture, and traditions.

Inside, the pavilion is divided into four main sections. The exhibition area immerses guests in Pomurje’s diverse landscapes and history, featuring interactive displays and thematic points that highlight everything from local folklore to the region’s famous thermal waters. One of the standout experiences is Panofilm, a 3D projection that brings to life Pomurje’s geological past and environmental richness. Visitors can also try the Neurospa, an interactive station where you can test your concentration with an EEG device while learning about the importance of water in the region.

EXPANO includes a Local Tourist Information Board for planning further adventures, a restaurant serving regional specialties, and a business space for events. The pavilion is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM, and tickets are available on-site or through their website.

Recognized with the 2020 Sejalec Award for its innovative approach, EXPANO is a gateway to understanding Pomurje’s unique character—making it an ideal starting point for anyone exploring northeastern Slovenia.
