Izvir cvička (Wine Fountain)

Izvir cvička, the Wine Fountain in Šmarješke Toplice, is a one-of-a-kind attraction that celebrates the unique wine heritage of Slovenia’s Dolenjska region. Set in a picturesque spot surrounded by vineyards and shaded by chestnut trees, this movable octagonal fountain offers visitors a memorable and interactive tasting experience. The fountain dispenses local wines—including cviček, a distinctive blend of red and white grape varieties—as well as its main ingredients: Blaufränkisch, Žametovka/Kraljevina, and Dolenjska white.

Guests can choose from a range of tasting packages, with prices starting at €11 per person, and enjoy their wine in the relaxed outdoor setting. For groups of six or more, tastings can be paired with local snacks by prior arrangement, making it a great option for friends or special occasions. The Molet House next to the fountain houses a Tourist Information Centre and a shop where you can purchase wine-themed souvenirs and tasting glasses to remember your visit.
